Why Do We Hide?

How can you understand unconditional love until you have experienced it?

How can you understand forgiveness until you have been given it?

How can you lean about healing unless you have been wounded?

How can you grasp mercy until you have been shown it?

How can you understand grace until you have been covered by it?

How can you help someone out of a pit of despair if you yourself have not climbed those same walls already?

Why do we hide from each other? Why do we feel the need to be perfect in front of each other. God would not have given us these things if we were not going to need them. Reach out to those you see hurting. Share what you have been through. Don't spare them details. Your weakness will be their strength. You can not take away or spare someone their pain, but you might keep them from having more. At the very least you give them someone to lean on when things are too hard to bear. Why do bad things happen to good people? To make them stronger. To make them better.
